Grandmaster Davidow (Mickey) was one of the most highly respected martial artists in South Africa. He held the following international grades:
Mickey was also a Springbok Judoka and Captained the Macabi Judo Team in 1965.
Mickey (who was opposed to being called Master) also trained widely in Ninjitsu and Western Boxing, and was ranked second in the world in Cumberland Wrestling in the 1970’s. He taught thousands of people over the last 50 years, many of whom have gone on to achieve great things. Perhaps the greatest evidence of this is the fact that the two current vice-presidents of the World Ju Jutsu Union are both his students.
Mickey passed away on 8 August 2022. The martial arts world has lost a titan.
Old photographs of Mickey training are collated here.
